The Method.
InvisiVeil® Mesh Integration Method
Mesh integration is designed for individuals who have hair thinning or patchy hair loss but still have some existing hair to work with. Most of my mesh integration clients are women experiencing anywhere from mild thinning to significant diffuse hair loss – roughly up to about 50-70% hair loss in the affected area is workable.is a salon-based, non-surgical hair replacement system designed specifically for those with thinning hair or partial hair loss. In simple terms, it’s a method of “blending” extra hair into your own using a lightweight, breathable mesh as the foundation. Unlike a traditional wig that fully covers your head, or standard extensions that attach to existing strands, mesh integration bridges the gap between wigs and extensions. We use a custom-fitted mesh (often a soft net-like base) that is secured to your scalp area where hair is thin, then we attach high-quality human hair to that mesh. Your own hair is gently pulled through the mesh and combined with the added hair, creating a seamless result that’s virtually undetectable as a hairpiece.
This technique is done by trained professionals in a salon setting – it’s not a DIY clip-on; the mesh system is tailored and applied for each client’s needs. The mesh itself mimics the color of your scalp and allows it to breathe, so it’s comfortable and scalp-friendly. In fact, because the added hair is attached to the mesh (not glued to your skin or tightly woven to your roots), your scalp can “breathe” and your natural hair can continue to grow underneath.
There’s no need for shaving your head or using harsh adhesives with true mesh integration systems– a big relief for those worried about further damaging delicate hair or skin. The end result is a fuller head of hair that looks and feels like it’s all your own, giving you coverage in thinning areas without the telltale signs of a wig or the strain of traditional extensions.
How Does Mesh Integration Work?
From a stylist’s perspective, mesh integration is an artful, step-by-step process. We always begin with a personalized consultation – I sit down with my client to assess her hair’s condition, discuss her goals, and take precise measurements. Every woman’s pattern of thinning is unique, so the system must be custom-designed for a perfect fit.
We start with hypoallergenic silk-poly mesh fabric that’s placed over your natural hair. The best part? It lets your scalp breathe and allows water to flow right through, so washing is a breeze! We then gently pull your natural hair through the net, creating a sturdy base for the wefts and lace closure to be sewn onto. The net takes the weight of the closure and wefts, giving your natural hair extra support and keeping it safe.
For your parting, we use a lace closure made of the finest human hair—it’s delicate, so aftercare is super important. With proper care, the lace closure should last about 6-8 months. After that, you will need to purchase a new one to keep your system looking fresh and fabulous! Once we’ve added the lace closure, we sew in the wefts, which can last up to a year with proper care. We trim away any excess net, shape your hair system, and voilà! Your mesh integration is perfectly blended into your own hair for a natural, flawless finish.
Our system is super lightweight, allowing your natural hair to grow normally underneath with no tension or pulling on your scalp. To keep everything in tip-top shape, we recommend a “pinch forward” appointment at the 4-week mark to tighten the hairline, and a full refit every 8 weeks. During the refit, we remove everything, wash, treat and massage your hair and scalp, then reinstall the system—leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to rock your gorgeous new look.
One of the beautiful things about mesh integration is that once it’s done, the new hair truly becomes part of you. Clients often tell me they quickly forget they’re even wearing a system because it’s so well integrated. The added hair flows and moves like natural hair. You can wash it, gently brush it, wear it up in a ponytail or style it for a night out – essentially, you treat it as your own hair in day-to-day life. Because it’s secured firmly yet comfortably, there’s no fear of it slipping off. In fact, many women feel liberated: they can exercise, dance, sweat and even swim with their new hair without worry!
InvisiVeil® Beaded Weft Method
Our Signature method is installed by creating a precisely placed beaded foundation, to which the InvisiVeil® Wefts are then hand-knotted with fine thread to achieve seamless length and volume. This method allows for healthy grow out, easy removal and reapplication, with no damage to the natural hair. InvisiVeil Wefts are designed to lay close to the scalp for maximum comfort and wearability, and are virtually invisible, even when wearing your hair up. Depending on the clients needs, 1 to 3 rows may be required; up to 5 wefts may be included in each row. As with all extension methods, proper care and maintenance is required to maintain the health of the scalp, natural hair, as well as the wefts. This method requires reinstallation every 8-12 weeks, at which time your stylist will be able to assess grow-out and scalp health, and make adjustments accordingly.
With proper care the lifespan of your InvisiVeil® Wefts range anywhere from 10-14 months.
Bespoke Keratin Bond Method
Custom keratin bonded extensions are installed by precisely fusing the keratin protein of the bond with the keratin protein of your hair. We do notn use factory bonds; in fact, our keratin comes straight from Italy and each bond is hand crafted to ensure a proper colour and density match. This method allows free movement of the hair, incredible comfort with a naturally layered texture. Great for all hair types because the attachment is very small and can be customized by cutting the hair extension to be virtually undetectable, even close to the hairline or top of the head. This method is great for someone who loves to put their hair up and go as it provides flexible movement. Due to the bespoke nature of this method, the installation time is the longest of all methods.
This method requires full removal and reinstallation of new hair every 4-6 months.
